What About Giving?

moneySupporting the Church with Time, Talent and Treasures.

We believe that giving is a blessing and we encourage every member and every person who regularly attends Grace Bible Church to support the work of the church as the Lord has blessed them…this support is in the form of time, talent and treasure.  We depend on all of these gifts to help us realize our mission of “Helping people Love God and Love One Another as we bring Christ to our world!”  If you want to find ways to use your "time and talent" to serve at Grace, please check out our Serve in the Church page or Serve in the Community page for information about service opportunities.

With respect to "treasures," we do our best to plan, budget and spend wisely and in accordance with God's plan, as we perceive it, for Grace Bible Church.  We encourage sacrificial giving as a way to glorify God for His goodness, faithfulness and mercy to each of us.  We believe that it should be the priority of each believer to support the work of their local church first, then other ministry and mission work as the Lord leads and blesses.  Not only do we believe each member should support the local church and missions, we follow this principle as a church by giving over 18% of our total annual budget/operating expenses directly to mission work.  And, from funds that are outside the budget process, we typically spend the equivalent of an additional 9% annually on other global and local mission activities.

Grace Bible Church is an IRS-recognized 501(c) 3 organization, that is, we are a not-for-profit ministry.  Contributions to Grace are tax deductible if no goods or services are provided in return for offerings and as long as the donations are given to our General Fund or to other designated accounts that have been approved by the Elder Board.  Our Operating Budget for this fiscal year (July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010) is $1,641,459.  Each week the back of the bulletin shows where we stand with respect to budget and actual giving.

Our Treasurer is Mike Rice, and our Financial and Benefits Administrator is Christine Jarrett.  Please feel free to contact any of them through the church office at 489-4200 if you have any questions regarding the finances of Grace Bible Church.
